Mobile app UI
With millions of students already using their web service, we aimed to refine the experience on web, whilst creating new apps for both iPhone and Android. The apps would allow users to scan book and journal barcodes and generate citations automatically.
Responsive web design
Alongside the mobile apps I redesigned the user interface for the web platform, allowing for use on the increasing amount of handheld devices capable of web browsing. A new style guide and design system was created around these fluid layouts.
After a successful launch RefME was named 2014 Startup of the Year by The Guardian. It went on to overtake Spotify and eBay in the download charts and grew faster than Twitter and Pinterest did in their first year.
